“But as it now is, He
[Christ] has acquired a [priestly] ministry which is as much superior and more excellent [than the old] as the covenant (the agreement) of which he is the Mediator (the Arbiter, Agent) is superior and more excellent, [because] it is enacted and rests upon more important (sublimer, higher, and nobler) promises” (Hebrews 8:6, AMP).

In the world of professional sports and entertainment, it is common practice to have an agent. Your agent can have a huge impact on your level of success. They will meet with team owners, industry executives, the media, sponsors, and promoters. They will present your merits, negotiate contracts, royalty payments, perks and benefits, travel arrangements, endorsements, and public appearances. Your agent must be someone you trust to represent you well and act in your best interest. In exchange for their services agents collect large fees. This has occasionally led to the agents’ mismanaging the clients’ funds, and become a familiar story among sports figures and Hollywood celebrities.

As Christians, we never have to worry about this problem. We have El Shaddai (God Almighty). We never have to doubt His credentials or level of sincerity. Jesus, Our Divine Agent, gave His life for us. There are no contracts to sign or checks to write. He is totally trustworthy, faithful, and dependable, and He is on call 24/7. However, He doesn’t represent just anyone. He works by invitation only. You must invite Him into your heart and surrender your life to Him completely. Be prepared to leave your old life in the world behind and live a new life in Him. You must believe in Him and Him alone, and be ready to come out of the darkness into the glorious light. Selfishness, fear, doubt, and unbelief must be left behind. Love, compassion, righteousness, obedience, and faithfulness are required, but always rewarded. The next time you are dealing with difficult issues at work and feeling a little overwhelmed, just call Jesus, your personal agent. Ask Him for what you need according to the Word. He is always working on your behalf. His benefits and privileges last an eternity. Do you know Him? If not, call on Him today.

Lord, thank you for guaranteeing eternal salvation on my behalf. Jesus, help me to trust you more each day and to turn every area of my life over to you. Through the blood of Jesus and in the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
