“May the God of your hope so fill you with all joy and peace in believing
I am drawn to the phrase, “bubbling over with hope.” Have you ever wondered why champagne is served at weddings, graduations, and anniversary parties? On these special occasions, friends and family come together to celebrate the moment and express their joy, excitement, and hope for the future. Whenever you open the champagne bottle, the pressure inside causes it to bubble over. It does the same thing if you pour it too quickly into the glass. My mind always thinks in terms of images, and I imagine God presiding over the wedding, opening and pouring the first glass of champagne for the new bride and groom and smiling as it bubbles over.
The more I grow in my faith walk I realize that God does that often. He pours His love and compassion over us until we bubble over. He pours His mercy and grace over us until we bubble over. He pours His forgiveness over us until we bubble over. He pours His perfect will over us until we are bubble over. He pours peace (prosperity and abundance) over our lives until we bubble over. He pours His favor into our lives until we bubble over. He pours His faithfulness over us until we bubble over.
Even on the cross, Jesus poured His blood over us until we bubbled over with reconciliation, redemption, restoration, healing, and deliverance. When was the last time you invited God to be the “Guest of Honor” at a major event in your life? When was the last time you cast your cares on the Lord and placed your hope and trust in Him? When was the last time you asked God to wash away your sorrows and fill your heart with His perfect love? Invite Jesus into your life today and celebrate your new life in Him with excitement and hope for the future. Surrender your life to Him and watch as He fills you with all joy, peace and hope to the point of bubbling over!
Lord, thank you for pouring your perfect love into my life. Jesus, you shed your blood on the Cross that I might have and enjoy life in abundance, to the full until I bubble over. Jesus, I invite you to fill me with joy, happiness, and your perfect peace today and always. Through the blood of Jesus and in Jesus name I pray, Amen.
